COVID-19 Update: Vaccinations Information and Resources

The College is monitoring the provincial roll-out of COVID-19 vaccinations and will keep physiotherapists updated as new information and resources become available.

We encourage all PTs to review the Government of Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccines for Ontario web page for information about the province’s vaccine distribution implementation plan, vaccine safety, and more. For a complete list of Ministry resources related to the vaccine, visit the COVID-19 Vaccine-Relevant Information and Planning Resources webpage.

As well, we suggest PTs review the Ministry of Health’s Guidance-for-prioritizing-health-care-workers-for-covid-19-vaccination document.

As the government begins to roll out vaccinations across Ontario, health care professionals are being prioritized based on the important work they are doing. While vaccination is not mandatory, being protected from getting and transmitting COVID-19 is encouraged as this contributes to the safe and ethical care of your patients. When possible, we recommend all PTs work with their employers to manage vaccination expectations.

Physiotherapists are encouraged to monitor their local public health unit’s website for information about vaccine distribution plans. Find your local public health unit.
